Students attending St. Joseph School have several enrichment activities to participate in.
Students at SJCS have the opportunity to participate in community service projects.
Projects include trips to the Free Store Foodbank where our students learn about food insecurity in Hamilton County and then put their energy and talents to work by packing food boxes for those in need.
Fourth and fifth graders participate in assembling personal care kits, while our first and second grade students create cards and decorations for the residents of the City West Senior building located in the West end.
Flying Pig running/walk training group - Each spring SJCS students begin training for the Flying Pig Marathons’ 26th miles children’s event.
On race day students, teachers and race ready family members all toe the start line together, representing our schools’ passion for personal development and growth. Training and racing teach our students the importance of daily work, both in academics and in health.
Each participant is awarded a medal as they cross the finish line and then celebrate with a post-race pizza party.
Our boys’ basketball teams enjoy a yearly mass and dinner with the Xavier Basketball team. Xavier players provide motivation to our students to be continually seeking academic success, community involvement and to live out a faith-based life.
SJCS girls’ basketball teams attend a UC Women’s basketball game and experience firsthand what it takes to become a successful student athlete.
JCS has partnered with Summit Football for more than a decade to provide a phenomenal football experience.
The SJCS/Summit teams practice at The Summit Country Day and are coached by both Summit and SJCS parents and coaches.
The team plays in the Greater Cincinnati Catholic Youth Sports league (GCCYS)
Through a partnership with FC Cincinnati, SJCS students participate in two weeks of soccer programming during PE classes with Omar Cummings, former FC pro soccer player.
SJCS students can continue to enjoy the game through the Soccer for Success program which offers practice and competitive play.
